About SHINE
SHINE (SELF-HELP INTERNATIONAL NETWORK ENTERPRISE) is a social enterprise, born out of the unwavering DESIRE to develop and realize his dreams, hope and vision for a one world, which Dr Ramesh Nambiar PhD.(Hon.) has been carrying with him for many years. Coupled with the relentless DESIRE of the co-founder of SHINE & his wife, Azeeza Jalaludeen to create global oneness, SHINE is a vision and mission to help the people of the world.
Dr Ramesh Nambiar & Azeeza Jalaludeen, born & bred in Singapore, are working on creating a global environment, which is conducive for the "unwanted" elderly to be merged with "unwanted" children that society has thus far branded as "orphans". This is PROJECT CANDYVILLE.
Social integration, creating careers and educational opportunities for individuals of all ages and all walks of life, and their placement in society as able people, form the basis of this project. It is noted that many of the residents in the homes currently available worldwide, lack self-esteem, a sense of belonging and the will to live. They have no sense of relationship with others, making them feel lonely, so much so that they cannot even relate & give appreciation to the caregivers around them.
Many of them take it as lost cause, thinking that they are not wanted by society, that they have no loved ones to care for them, and feel they cannot contribute to society either. While the elderly feel they are leading a meaningless life and counting their days, many of the residents in orphanages find it easier to be drawn into immoral activities and crime, as they too feel alienated by society.
PROJECT CANDYVILLE, envisioned to kick-off in 2012 (with the help of the Higher Power), is not just another 'home' dependent on donations & hand-me-downs. It is a self-funded project & a social enterprise in every way visionable.
We adopt one holistic concept by incorporating all as follows:
1. Matching an Elder with a Child for bonding relationships.
2. Retraining, Skills Development & Education.
3. Creating Careers in various booming industries, globally.All these are possible as Project Candyville will also include resort-style HOLIDAY ACCOMODATIONS, in the vicinity of the "residences", where luxury class resorts/ hotels will be build for tourists (contributing to the Travel & Leisure Industry) around the world.
SHINE aims to develop a series of international “residences” and Social Enterprises based on just this concept. SHINE develops different types of globally viable businesses that focuses on adding value to Mankind, beginning with the edification, wellness and hospitality industries, et cetera. A percentage of ALL earnings received from these businesses will be channelled toward funding PROJECT CANDYVILLE.
