The System for Change

The subject of Change has been spoken about since time immemorial.   You may have heard of Change Management in various areas including Leadership Development, etc.  However, Change is a necessity in every aspect of our life, be it in relationships, career or otherwise.

Change takes place all the time.  Many experience Change, for better or for worse.  Change is an ongoing variable.  It takes place all around us, all the time.  Yet, if there is anything that is always constant, it is also Change.

Overall Progress comes from Change.  Our nation is the perfect example of such Continual Change.  This is the only kind of Change you want.  Being oblivious to the need for Change will only leave you behind in a fast changing socio-economic world.

Yes, you have to Change with times.  Yet, it is not simply about being Adaptable to differing situations.  It is about going beyond Adaptability.  For with Change comes Innovation.  It is about achieving a New Height of Success.

You are about to discover how you can create the foundation for yourself to improve your life dramatically, by applying a few simple steps.

Always remember,
Change starts with you.
Change cannot be enforced upon you.
No one can force change on another.
Change is not a temporary stint.
True Change stays with you -FOREVER.

In order to have a lasting effect and experience the real benefits, the Change you experience must be Transformational.  This I call The Cycle Of Progressive Transformational Change.  This is where Progress takes over from Complacence, Stagnation, Redundancy and Failure.

The 4 steps to The Cycle Of Progressive Transformational Change are for you to:

1.REALIZE THE NEED FOR CHANGE;
2.IDENTIFY THE AREA(S) FOR CHANGE;
3.FORMULATE A CHANGE PLAN; &
4.PUT YOUR CHANGE PLAN INTO ACTION.

REALIZE THE NEED FOR CHANGE
Human nature is such that we seek change only when we realize that we are not getting the results we want or when something very adverse happens in our lives.  If you are getting the same results most of the time, then chances are, your actions have also been similar.  This means that you can only induce change into yourself by first realizing, acknowledging and accepting that you need to change.  In other words, you must truly believe that you require the change.  This can only come from inside you.

IDENTIFY THE AREA(S) FOR CHANGE
This is where you will need to take a step back and review everything ... the cause and the effect.  This is not about looking for answers externally.  Rather, it is about taking a good hard look at yourself and what makes you “tick”!  You need to study carefully, as to why you experienced a result, which you feel is undesirable.  You need to identify the key area(s) that would have caused this undesirable effect.  Quite often, this may point to several areas that require minor changes and/or some areas that require major “rectification”!  These are your root causes.  You need to identify your role in creating this undesirable result and how you can change to improve.

FORMULATE A CHANGE PLAN
Now that you have identified the root cause, all you need to do is to simply put up an action plan that is in line with what you desire as a result.  Write down your root causes in order of importance.  Give priority to the one that needs your immediate attention, and then the next, etc.  Next, address each need separately and design a step by step action plan to seek resolution.  Ask yourself and seek help of others, in order to understand how your need can be fulfilled.  Other peoples' experiences will definitely come in useful.  While you may not be able to apply the information given to you by others, as is, you will be able to use this information to come up with innovative ideas that best suit you.

PUT YOUR CHANGE PLAN INTO ACTION
This is as simple as saying to yourself, “I am changing myself for the better, right now!”, and doing it!  For, once you have an action plan, it really is all about whether you want to do it or not.  This is where most people fail!  Many know where they are going wrong.  Many have ideas on how to improve themselves.  They make all the wonderful action plans.  However, they almost inadvertently fail when it boils down to putting their plans to action ... simply because their will to change falls short!  Your strongest support for Change comes from your willpower and your belief in yourself.  For without these, nothing can ever be achieved.  So, be strong and just do it.
